The AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch says the statewide average gas price in Texas is $2.96 a gallon for regular unleaded. That price is up four-cents from a week ago, and is 84-cents more than a year ago. The national average is $3.32. Gasoline supplies and demand are both slightly higher, but upward pressure on the retail price is coming from continued growth in the price of crude oil. The average price at the pump in San Antonio is $2.87.
