Thieves Steal 16 Catalytic Converters From NISD Buses

Northside ISD is reporting the theft of catalytic converters from 16 of its minibuses. District officials say the theft happened early Tuesday morning at the North Transportation Station on Hausman. The theft resulted in the delay of several bus routes later that morning. The district says other vehicles are designated to run the bus routes for now. NISD officials say it'll cost about 24-thousand-dollars to repair the buses. Police say thieves steal catalytic converters to sell the precious metals they contain.
