A local hospital official says he has no problem with recent changes to the CDC's recommendations about pandemic isolation procedures. The federal agency has recommended cutting the isolation time from ten-days to five-days for asymptomatic patients. Dr. Bryan Alsip, chief medical officer at University Health, says he's "pretty comfortable" with the new recommendations, based on the rate of transmission of the virus in the first five-days of infection. Since someone can still be contagious beyond five-days, Alsip points out that the CDC recommends masking-up for another ten-days.
