FAA Delays Final Environmental Assessment On SpaceX Orbital Program

The FAA is delaying the release of an environmental assessment that SpaceX needs to launch its Starship prototype into orbit. The FAA announced yesterday that it will not release the report until February 28th. The agency says SpaceX is currently drafting responses to the 18-thousand comments received from the public while the assessment was being compiled. The new release date will allow the FAA to review the company's final response to the report and coordinate with other agencies. SpaceX has been testing the Starship prototype at its Boca Chica, Texas launch site in hopes of starting orbital launches early next year.
