A San Antonio district is in the thick of the Justice Department's lawsuit against Texas for its recent redistricting. The newly drawn maps reduce the percentage of registered voters with Spanish names in state House District 118 from nearly 60-percent to about 48-percent. Lawmakers replaced neighborhoods inside Loop 410 with areas around Randolph Air Force Base and southwestern Bexar County. The federal suit also claims racial discrimination in state House District 31 and U.S. House District 23.
