Texas is being accused of violating federal voting rights laws over redistricting. Attorney General Merrick Garland announced a suit against Texas today saying the new congressional districts make it harder for Blacks and Latinos to get representation. The Justice Department is focused on the state's two new congressional districts and a West Texas district. The new maps were passed earlier this year.
