The White House is asking the Federal Trade Commission to look into why gas prices are so high.
This week, President Biden sent a letter to FTC Chair Lina Khan asking them to "consider whether illegal conduct is costing families at the pump".
The letter cites an "unexplained gap" that has seen gas prices continue to rise, despite the fact that prices for unfinished gasoline have gone down 5 percent.
