A major TV production is moving out of central Texas and headed for Georgia. Fear the Walking Dead has been filming in the Austin area since 2017, and bringing hundreds of jobs with it. The Austin Film Commission says the production budget for the popular series is sometimes 50-thousand-dollars an hour, which went to local businesses such as hotels, restaurants, and car rentals. The show's relocation to Savannah is an economic blow not only to Austin, but to other towns where the show has filmed, including New Braunfels and La Grange.
