The San Antonio police are working to convince illegal street racers to move their activities to controlled local race tracks. Officers have been talking with racers since May, trying to come up with a solution other than arresting everybody involved. Police have responded for years to fatal accidents caused by illegal street racing. The staff at Alamo City Motorplex, which hosts races every week, says they're willing to provide a safer place for street racers.
