Austin firefighters were called in this morning to rescue two construction workers hanging from ropes after a scaffolding malfunction at a building near East 12th Street and I-35. Austin-Travis County EMS says the firefighters were able to use ropes to get to the victims who did not appear to be injured. More than an hour into the incident, the rescue effort was still underway.
