Social Media Execs Defend Responses To Concerns About Impacts On Kids

Executives of TikTok, Snapchat and YouTube are defending their companies amid growing concerns about the negative impacts of social media on kids. 

During a Senate hearing, YouTube VP Leslie Miller insisted her company is focused on addressing the unique needs of kids. 

TikTok VP Michael Beckerman cited strong parental controls and said his company is always looking to improve. 

Snap VP Jennifer Stout explained her company is committed to safe, healthy experiences for kids.

Connecticut Democrat Richard Blumenthal opened a Senate hearing and said kids are often led down dark "rabbit holes" on social media, guided by algorithms.
