Operation Lone Star has a new leader. Governor Greg Abbott swore in Monie Ulis as Deputy Adjutant General of the Texas Military Department during a ceremony in Mission yesterday. Ulis spent more than 30 years with the Texas Army National Guard before being picked for his new role. He will coordinate border missions for the groups that make up the security operation at the border.
