The body of a 5-year-old girl has been recovered by teams searching floodwater in Far East Bexar County near North Graytown Road and Farm-to-Market 1518.. The girl and a woman had gone missing after two cars were washed off the road during storms.
Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar says rescue crews were able to save several other passengers in the vehicles who were clinging to trees when they arrived. The sheriff says the child's body was recovered this afternoon. The woman's body is believed to still be in a car that remains submerged in the water. Teams hope to be able to retrieve the vehicle on Friday once the water has gone down.
