Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards is hoping power will be back on in the state as soon as possible. The governor told reporters in LaPlace he's not satisfied with comments from utilities saying it could be 30 days until the lights are back on. Edwards also says a lot of power infrastructure was damaged by Hurricane Ida. He adds it was one of the most powerful hurricanes in modern history. Entergy Louisiana says over 20,000 storm team members are out canvassing the damage. The major focus will be getting power restored to hospitals.

The Colonial Pipeline is back up and running again following Hurricane Ida.  The Colonial Pipeline Company confirmed it had restored service late Monday night. Roughly 96% of oil production in the Gulf of Mexico was halted as a result of the storm. Triple-A says in the aftermath of Ida and with the Labor Day holiday weekend approaching, Americans could see temporary spikes in gas prices.

Two prominent figures in the NFL are making donations for Hurricane Ida relief in Louisiana. Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back and New Orleans native Leonard Fournette is donating 100-thousand-dollars to relief efforts. Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank is also pitching in by matching New Orleans Saints Owner Gayle Benson's one-million-dollar donation. Half of Blank's money will go to the American Red Cross and the other half is being donated to the Greater New Orleans Foundation.
