The San Antonio Missions dropped the series finale on Sunday against the Midland RockHounds. The Missions plated three runs on six hits, while Midland scored five runs on eight hits.

After losing the last two games, the Midland RockHounds put two runs on the board in the bottom of the first inning. Facing Osvaldo Hernandez, Max Schuemann led off the inning with a single. After recording an out, Hernandez allowed a two-run home run to Jonah Bride. His eighth long ball of the season gave Midland an early 2-0 lead.

The Missions had a chance to cut into the deficit in the second inning. Allen Cordoba and Ben Ruta both drew walks to start the inning. Michael Curry grounded into a double play, moving Cordoba to third base with two outs. Olivier Basabe put the Missions on the board with an RBI single.

Hernandez settled into the game following the first inning. He threw three consecutive scoreless innings but struggled in the fifth. Midland added two insurance runs due to errors, walks, and timely hitting. Hernandez struck out the first batter of the inning but walked the next batter, Jhonny Santos. Schuemann followed that up with a base hit. The RockHounds loaded the bases after a throwing error from Hernandez. Jonah Bride provided the big hit of the inning with a two-run double to make it a 4-1 ballgame.

San Antonio responded with two runs in the top of the sixth inning. Agustin Ruiz reached on a lead-off double, his second double of the series. Later in the inning, Allen Cordoba continued his hot streak and connected on his fifth home run of the season. His blast made it a 4-3 ballgame.

The RockHounds added an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Facing Jerry Keel, Santos hit a lead-off home run to make it a 5-3 Midland lead. It was his 10th long ball of the season.
