Officials are investigating a chemical leak that killed two people and injured more than a dozen others at the LyondellBasell Industries in La Porte on Tuesday. Crews responded about 7:30 p.m. to the reported accident at the plant on Miller Cut-Off Road. The city's Office of Emergency Management says the leak involved acetic acid, which is a solvent used in industrial processes. The Atascocita Fire Department says 14 people were hospitalized in unknown condition. Harris County Pollution Control says there was no offsite impact.
