Austin-Travis County Health Authority Dr. Desmar Walkes is urging everyone to wear masks regardless of vaccination status. Walkes says vaccinated folks that may have mild disease could be walking around without a mask, thinking it's allergies and spreading the virus without knowing it. This comes after health officials indicated that Austin and Travis County could go back to stage four of the risk guidelines, which would recommend vaccinated individuals to wear masks. Officials will hold a virtual Q and A session today at 10:30 a.m. to discuss what stage city and county are at.
