An Austin cop is no longer facing charges in connection with a 2019 use of force situation. Travis County DA Jose Garza says an internal review discovered new evidence justifying Officer Gregory Gentry's actions during a drug interdiction operation. Garza says an ADA from the previous administration failed to tell anyone about the evidence. He also apologized to Gentry, who was indicted earlier this year. Another officer is still charged in the case.
