Former Texas Republican Party chief Allen West says he's running for Governor. West made the announcement yesterday at Sojourn Church in Carrollton where he also read the entire Declaration of Independence to the congregation. His resignation as the head of the Texas Republican Party, which he announced a month ago, is effective July 11th. Among his campaign promises West says he'll fight to reinforce both the state's energy grid and border security.
