The city is leasing a hotel to shelter the chronically homeless. The shelter will be operated in conjunction with the nonprofit San Antonio Metropolitan Ministry, known as SAMMinistries. Ministry personnel will work to find permanent housing for the homeless clientele. The shelter is for single people or couples without children who need help finding a home. The goal is to help people who have been on the streets for years.
