Local governments are now facing fines if they issue a mask mandate. Governor Greg Abbott tweeted a reminder that starting yesterday local cities could be fined if they implemented a mask mandate of any kind. This means all government owned buildings in the state of Texas cannot enforce a mask policy. Private businesses can still require masks. This comes after new guidance from the CDC this week stating if you are fully vaccinated, you can ditch the mask.
