The Rangers snapped their six-game skid with a 5-2 win over the Yankees. Texas' victory over New York was led by Adolis Garcia and Willie Calhoun home runs to deny Gerrit Cole's bid to become the American League's first six-game winner. The Rangers entered the homestand-opening series coming off their first winless road trip of at least six games since 1991. The two continue their three-game series tonight.
