The state Department of Family and Protective Services will once more take charge of managing the placement of foster kids in Bexar County. An agency spokesman says they found out on Monday that Family Tapestry was canceling its state contract to provide the service in Bexar County.
The agency handles the placement of foster kids for most of Texas, but a few local contractors handle the task through a model known as community-based care. Family Tapestry is the community-based care department of The Children's Shelter.
