Shortage Of Truck Drivers Could Lead To Gasoline Supply Issues This Summer

Expect to pay more for that summer road trip. The tanker truck industry is having trouble finding drivers to transport gasoline to the filling stations. John Esparza, who heads the Texas Trucking Association, says a new report found that between 20-and-25-percent of trucks nationwide are sitting idle because of the shortage of drivers. He says part of the problem is frivolous lawsuits that cause drivers to worry about their liability. Esparza says difficulty in delivering goods is causing prices to rise and will continue to do so.
