Police Accountability Bill Gets Initial Nod From House

A police reform bill that requires officers to intervene and report a fellow officer using excessive force is now before the Texas House. Rep. Ron Reynolds, the sponsor of the bill, says it doesn't target good cops. The House has given its initial approval to the bill, which Reynolds says will benefit everybody involved. The Missouri City Democrat was convicted in 2015 on misdemeanor charges for illegally soliciting clients for his personal injury practice, and was sentenced to a year in jail.
