A Bexar County jailer is under indictment for assaulting an inmate. A grand jury on Tuesday charged 24-year-old detention officer Eduardo Sanchez with official oppression and aggravated assault by a public servant. Prosecutors say Sanchez was on-duty when he struck Hector Lopez in May 2018. Lopez reportedly caused a disturbance while he was being booked into jail on a drug charge. Sanchez is accused of punching Lopez with a pair of handcuffs, injuring one of his eyes. Sanchez faces life in prison if he's found guilty.
