Vice President Kamala Harris says the U.S. is sending $310 million in aid to Central America.
The money will go towards both 'humanitarian relief' and 'food insecurity' in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras, the White House says.
Harris was put in charge of Central American efforts as a response to the growing number of migrant and refugees at the border. She is scheduled to visit the region in June.
