Officials are identifying a man killed in a shootout with an officer at San Antonio International Airport last week. The Bexar County Medical Examiner identified the shooter on Saturday as Joe Gomez, who opened fire at Terminal B on Thursday. San Antonio Park Police Officer John Maines returned fire, wounding Gomez twice. The autopsy revealed Gomez's fatal wound had been self-inflicted. Police say Gomez has a history of arrests in Bexar County dating to 1999, but had no history of weapons-related offenses or violent crime.
