Former MN Police Officer Who Killed Daunte Wright May Face Charges

Criminal charges could be brought today against the former Minnesota police officer accused of killing a Black man during a traffic stop.

Local news reports say the Washington County Attorney's Office is reviewing the shooting of 20-year-old Daunte Wright.

A decision regarding charges is expected as early as today.

Wright was pulled over near Minneapolis on Sunday afternoon for having expired plates, and was being arrested for an outstanding warrant when he tried to flee.

It's now believed that Officer Kim Potter may have meant to tase Wright, but fired her gun by accident.
