Texas, 13 Other States Sue To Intervene In Immigration Suit

Texas and 13 other states are trying to intervene in an immigration lawsuit involving taxpayer-funded government programs. Attorney General Ken Paxton says the states need to get involved because the Biden administration won't defend the "public-charge" rule banning immigrants who may end up on welfare by being in the U.S. The Trump administration put the rule in place in 2019, but the Biden administration decided to no longer defend it in court. The states involved are hoping the U.S. Supreme Court will let them take over the suit.
