A bipartisan bill to legalize casino gambling in Texas is now being considered by the state Legislature. The measure would legalize gambling and open the way for casino "destination resorts" to be built in DFW, Austin, Houston, and San Antonio. Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has never supported the issue. If both houses of the Legislature pass the measure, voters would have to approve it by an amendment to the state Constitution. That vote could happen this November.
