Spurs & LaMarcus Aldridge Parting Ways

The San Antonio Spurs and LaMarcus Aldridge are parting ways.

Head coach Gregg Popovich confirmed Aldridge is no longer going to be no longer part of the team.

"We've mutually agreed to work out some opportunities for him and that'll be elsewhere," said Popovich. "So, he won't be with the team moving forward. He's been a great teammate. There was no problem there. We just think this is a win-win for both LaMarcus and for the club. So when an opportunity arises, that'll be up to management, his agent, you know, that sort of thing. We'll all be moving forward."

Aldridge was selected second overall in the 2006 NBA Draft and spent nine seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers before being signed by the Spurs in 2015. He played two years of college basketball at the University of Texas.

Aldridge has been selected to five All-NBA teams and is a seven-time NBA All-Star.
