House lawmakers are making pushes towards new legislation targeting gun laws.
One new law being presented is the requirement of background checks for all gun sales.
This comes after the legislation was launched in 2019, but had been put on pause.
California Rep. Mike Thompson says this comes from the wants of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents wanting stricter gun laws.
"We began our work to combat the scourge of gun violence eight years ago after the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School and will not stop until we deliver for the American people," said Thompson.
