The Senate confirmed Granholm as energy secretary on a bipartisan vote of 64-35.
Democrat Granholm is a former governor of Michigan.
Her nomination from President Biden faced no serious hurdles. She vowed to put a key focus on climate change and renewable energy during her Senate confirmation hearing.
