Nino Niederreiter broke the game's tie just four minutes into the final period to help the Hurricanes defeat the Stars 5-3 in Dallas. Four more goals hit the net from Sebastian Aho, Jordan Staal, Brock McGinn, and Warren Foegele. James Reimer stopped 34 shots for the Hurricanes, who moved to 8-3-and-0 on their season. Mark Pysyk, Roope Hintz, and Joe Pavelski each had goals for the Stars in their defeat. Anton Khudobin stopped 27 pucks for Dallas, which dropped to 5-3-and-3.
