Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is urging President Biden to declare a national emergency on climate change.
Schumer said it would be a giant step in the right direction.
He also stressed it would send a powerful signal to the world that the U.S. is once again serious about climate change.
Schumer also cheered Biden's move to rejoin the international Paris climate change accord.
