As part of the push to ensure a smooth inauguration next week, major airlines are banning checked firearms on all flights to Washington.
Southwest, Delta, United and American are among the airlines not allowing travelers to check their firearms on flights to DC.
American Airlines said it will also ban alcohol on flights to and from DC airports until after the inauguration.
