Former presidential candidate Andrew Yang is running for mayor of New York City.
During his bid for the presidency, he proposed the concept of a universal basic income, giving each American one thousand dollars a month.
He is now talking about a similar plan for New York City.
The Democratic challenger would be only the second Asian-American candidate to run for the office and make it onto the ballot. Yang moved to the city 25 years ago.
