Amazon plans to build a million-square-foot warehouse distribution center in San Marcos. The facility will be located on Fortuna Road at Yarrington Road, across from the Hays County Transportation Department on the north side of town. The 71-acre site is in the Whisper Planned Development District. It reportedly should be finished in about nine-months. Amazon already operates a warehouse on the south side of San Marcos and has announced plans to open a sortation center in Kyle.
