University Health Chief: Vaccine May Be In Bexar County By Next Week

The chief medical officer for University Health says Bexar County could receive coronavirus vaccines as soon as a week from today. Dr. Bryan Alsip says it's contingent on whether the Food and Drug Administration's Vaccine Advisory committee authorizes Pfizer's vaccine for emergency use. The committee meets Thursday to discuss the matter. Dr. Alsip says the county will likely receive 28-thousand doses of the vaccine at first. The CDC says frontline workers and residents of nursing homes should be the first people vaccinated.
