It appears South by Southwest may not be happening in 2021, or at least as it is normally held. Austin-Travis County Health Authority Dr. Mark Escott told reporters today the coronavirus pandemic is too dangerous for larger festivals to happen in the first three months of next year. He does think it's possible larger events can happen starting in April. The entertainment festival was canceled by the city and county earlier this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
