Texas Board Of Education Passes Changes To Sex Ed Curriculum

The state Board of Education is changing the sex ed curriculum in Texas public schools for the first time in 23 years. Instead of just focusing on abstinence, schools will also be teaching about prevention, birth control methods and STDs. But under the Texas Election Code, school districts are not required to provide any sex education. It's up to the individual schools to choose to offer it. The final vote on the new curriculum was on Friday.
