Chicago Mayor Reinstates Some Restrictions To Slow Coronavirus Spike

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is reinstating some coronavirus restrictions to try and slow a spike in cases.

Starting today, all non-essential businesses must close between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Bars that don't have retail food licenses won't be allowed to serve customers indoors.

The mayor is asking all Chicagoans to avoid gatherings of more than six people and to end all social gatherings by 10 p.m.

Lightfoot is ordering the restrictions after coronavirus cases in Chicago jumped by 54% over the past week.
