Tesla is revealing part of its plan for the billion-dollar factory the company is building in Austin. A site plan filed with the city of Austin includes a huge factory building and its parking lots near Texas 130, adding up to nearly eight-million square feet. That covers 280 acres of the 2,100 tract the company bought in July for 97 million dollars. So far, Tesla hasn't indicated what it has in mind for the other 1,800 acres at the site.
