More Than 20 Hurt After Cranes Collide In Austin

Only minor injuries are being reported after a crane collided with another crane at a construction site where a parking garage and office complex is being built in Austin.

Austin Travis-County EMS says 16 people were taken to area hospitals after the cranes ran into each other at a construction site. Most of the injuries happened as workers tries to get away from the scene on Robert Browning near Mueller. Austin firefighters say crane wires became entangled, leading to the accident. Some 5 hours after the accident a crane operator was still in the bucket that operates the crane as officials worked to get him down safely.
