Ten Harris County School Districts Revolt Against 'Indefinite Closure'

Superintendents from ten Harris County school districts are telling the health department its recommendations on reopening schools can't be done. Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo and health experts last week said districts should provide only virtual learning until the county is out of the red-level virus alert. The superintendents say this amounts to an indefinite closure, which is unsustainable and harmful to children. The districts of Cy-Fair, Humble, Katy, Clear Creek, Deer Park, Huffman, Klein, Pasadena, Spring Branch and Tomball are pushing back. Houston ISD's superintendent did not sign the letter.
