Texas health officials say a sharp drop in coronavirus positivity rates since last week is the result of correcting errors in data reporting. The positivity rate hit a record high of nearly 25% last Tuesday, but was down to just over 11% by Saturday.
The Texas Department of State Health Services says there were coding errors on data entered by Walgreens, Christus Meditech, and Quest Diagnostic. The error kept half-a-million test results from being properly uploaded to the state database. The department says the errors have been corrected.
