U.S. Retail Sales Stall Out In July

After a strong rebound in June, U.S. retail sales stalled out in July, according to new data from the Commerce Department.

Retail sales rose by just 1.2% last month, much less than expected after an 8.4% surge the previous month.

It was still a good month for electronics and appliance retail stores, which saw a 22% boost - possibly because more people are working from home.

Auto dealerships, book stores, and home improvement stores all saw their sales decline in July.
