The City of San Antonio expects to spend nearly half a billion dollars over three years to respond and recover from the pandemic. Assistant City Manager Maria Villagomez presented a breakdown to the City Council in a budget work session on Tuesday. The costs include everything from testing to the $191 million recovery plan the council passed in June. The total doesn't include a proposed $154 million sales tax-funded program the city plans to put onto the November ballot. About three-quarters of the $492 million outlay would be paid for with federal grants, including funds from the CARES Act.
