A record number of people are ditching their U.S. citizenship.
New research shows close to 6,000 Americans gave up their citizenship in the first six months of this year. That compares to just over 2,000 who did in all of 2019.
Bambridge Accountants examined public data to put the numbers together.
Those who gave up U.S. citizenship reported several reasons for doing so: the heated political climate and taxes.
